is one of the founders of the project and managing director of Reading Elephant Laos. Khamkeo was born in the village of Numpouk in Bokeo Province, where his father, Bounthong, was headteacher of the local primary school. His father had a formative influence on his early school years and instilled in him an awareness of the need to promote reading and education in his country. During and after his studies in Luang Prabang, he gained extensive experience in organising and running book festivals, as well as in book design and sales, through his work at the children’s book publisher Big Brother Mouse.
